Born Emmanuel Kiio in Machakos County and having grown up in different shifting environments, the journey of a rising star Mbokotho began.
The promising singer attended Mwingo Primary school in Mombasa before enrolling at Starehe Boys’ Center in Nairobi. He would later join Maseno University to study BA/Media and Mass Communication .
His passion for singing and song writing however began in his primary school where he started with gospel songs without actual production.
Mbokotho didn’t leave his passion behind despite stranious High School studies much as producing the songs was still a problem. He however used that opportunity to perfect his song writing skills.
While at Maseno University Mbokotho met the Kisumu’s celebrated entertainment group 411 society , members who included Lax, Cornrows and Flaqo. He made attempts to work with them but at that point he actually didn’t understand the industry dynamics .There was the fear that what he was writing was never going be listened to by anyone.
Call it fear of the unknown.
He would later meet Nadia Mukami , whom he says he talked to and I started to understand different techniques of approaching music.
Mbokotho then started writing afresh with a 3 years of continuous practicing.
That is how he begun producing hits back to back.
The singer now admits he has come a long way and is confident now of what to come ahead.
He has so far worked with Motif di Don on four songs and with Mavo on The Beat on another song and he is so excited to be doing hits with some of the biggest names in the gengetone side of Kenyan music.
