Born 11th of January 1992 is celebrated Rwandese beautiful songbird and hitmaker Sunlight Ingabire Dorcas popularly known by her stage name Sunny.
She does have roots in Kenya too considering she is recording & performing artiste mostly based in the 254. Sunny began her musical career at the young age of 15 and currently she boasts of a huge music library with other business investments in the beauty and cosmetics industry.
Despite experiencing a backlash in her musical journey especially at the onset of things, her hard work and determination finally brought to her doorstep a collaboration with Rwandese All Star finalist Bruce Melody and that’s how the song Kungola came to be .
Her song Waone featuring Tanzania’s Aslay would later open her doors wider.
Taking you back a bit, Dorcas “Sunny” Ingabire went to Hope Primary and St. Joseph girls.
She started her music career in Rwanda in 2015 where she recorded “i love to sing ” but due to management issues, the song didn’t do well.She would later move to Nairobi,a period in which she crafted out this most hyped jam ‘kungola’with a state of the art video that saw her head different national entertainment media blogs and papers. However Sunny had issues with the Rwandese star Bruce Melody on matters release and this is what led to youtube pulling down the Bruce Melody video based on copyright claims.
The song was however re-uploaded and has since hammered over a million views.
Sunny has since appeared on almost all national papers and tv and at the moment enjoying her space in the industry with backup from a strong and resilient management.
Sunny who grew up singing all her life resorted to Afro pop music because she wanted to venture into commercial music business to make money and promote the african culture through her music hence explore her diversity and versatility.
She blends african beats with urban pop fusion styles so well that she has stood out among her fellow musicians .
